We proclaim the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ in Holiness, Hope, Justice, Salvation, Liberation, Restoration and Resurrection.
We “Praise and Glorify” God’s Divine presence throughout our entire worship experience.
Our Praise Theology seeks to free up the Spirit of God within each of us so that
God’s supernatural power (Acts 2)
can magnify the Lord
and bring many into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 28:19)
1. We believe that “in the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth. (Gen 1&2, Psalm 90) and that God created all living things including the animals, the great seas, the galaxies, and human beings; and that He is the creator of the Evolutionary process which scientist have seen in dinosaurs and other extinct forms of life that lived millions of years ago. We believe that God created all the angels in heaven, including some angels who rebelled against God and became demonic devils on the earth. We believe that God cannot be destroyed by man or nature, that his promises are totally true; that he cannot lie, be killed, or die; and that God has an eternal plan to finally redeem the whole world from the carnage of the devil.
2. We believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and as Eternal Son whom God incarnated himself in human form in order to finally convince human beings of his love, redemptive power, and ability to conquer the devil, death, and ultimate destruction. We believe that God will send Jesus a second and final time onto the earth as a final act of judgment (Matthew 25:31-46).
3. We believe that sin is the result of an original fall from perfection by our first human ancestors (Adam and Eve) who disobeyed God and followed the devil; and thus, ushered in death, destruction and “wars and rumors of wars.” We believe that all men and women are sinners (Romans 3:23) and that it is only through Jesus Christ that our sins are forgiven, and we are restored with God. (Luke 23:43).
4. We believe that evil is a product of human sinfulness; and that every human being has the propensity for good and evil acts. We believe that every baby is born with the potential for good and the potential for evil in this world. We believe that even the most righteous and holiest person has what some Theologians call a degree of residual evil lurking within their being. It is only through receiving God’s Spirit that we are enabled to walk in His Spirit and not in a sinful flesh (Galatians 6).
Whereas there is gross racial, ethnic, gender and nationality bias in the world and in the United States of America, we as a progressive faith community are mandated by the Holy Scriptures to work on an interfaith ecumenical basis to correct these injustices. Therefore, we accept into our fellowship all persons who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and who repent of their sins publicly; regardless of such persons are poor, homeless, wealthy, old, young, handicapped, homosexual, ex- offenders, or others who may be discriminated against in the secular society we live in.
We promote global peace among all races and nationalities. We follow Jesus’ social mandate in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthey 5, 6, 7) and the parable of the Last Judgement (Matthew 25:31-46 and Luke 4:18-20). We support livable wage for all workers, equal wage for women and all so-called minorities whether blue collar or white collar. We support quality public education for all children and youth on an equitable distribution basis; children in the city ought to receive as much money for education as the children in the suburbs.
We believe in full Reparations for 400 (four hundred) years of unpaid slave labor African Americans were forced to perform. We believe that the Federal voting rights act (the 15th Amendment) that was passed in 1965, should be extended permanently. We believe that financial institutions and governing institutions should invest in supporting a quality of life in housing, health, education, equal protections, police who serve and protect and investment in so called minority business development.
We believe that all churches who claim Jesus Christ as Lord are required to work on an interfaith and ecumenical basis to make human society and all persons better in the sight of God. Finally, we believe that when God comes again in Christ, He will judge the world and the church on how well we accomplished these social objectives.
